Watch your tongue, govt monitoring social media - Portable

Controversial singer and songwriter Habeeb Okikiola popularly known as Portable Omolalomi has warned his colleagues and fans to mind what they say or post on social media to avoid being on the wrong side of the law.
He said his warning should be taken seriously because government agents monitor social media events.
He shared his recent experience with the Inspector-General of Police, Singer Naira Marley and his friend, Sam Larry.
In a video clip posted on his Instagram page on Wednesday, Portable alleged that he was arrested on the order of the IGP due to comments he made on social media which was pointed to the state by Sam Larry.
He said he was only released on compassionate grounds by the IGP after Naira Marley had forgiven him.
FG replies Peter Obi, denies correlation between Harvard Business School, Nigeria’s image

The federal government has debunked claims that Nigerians were not selected to the Harvard Business School because of the country’s negative image.
This was stated in a post on X by Senior Special Assistant to President Tinubu on Public Engagement, Fredrick Nwabufo.
The presidential aide replied to a series of tweets by former Anambra governor Peter Obi, who asserted that no Nigerians were selected for the Harvard Business School class of 2025 due to the country’s negative image.
Obi further argued that this perception led the institution to choose candidates from Kenya, Rwanda, Morocco, and Ghana, excluding Nigeria.
In his response, Nwabufo said there was no correlation between Harvard Business School’s prerogative of selection in its Field Global Immersion course and Nigeria’s image.

Lagos to clear pension backlog Thursday

The Lagos State Pension Commission is set to pay the last batch of the outstanding backlogs of Accrued Pension Right to retirees of the Lagos State Civil Service, the Director-General, Mr. Babalola Obilana, has said.
Obilana, in a statement, said the backlog would be cleared at the upcoming 105th Bond Certificate Presentation schedule for July 4, 2024.
He said the significant event would echo the remarkable testament of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s commitment to the welfare and well-being of our senior citizens.
Delta APC chieftain urges Tinubu, NSA to disregard calls to sack Otuaro

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, High Chief Michael Johnny, Agadiwei of Gbaramatu Kingdom in Warri South West Local Government Area, has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, to disregard those he described as mischief-makers calling for the sack of Dennis Otuaro, Administrator of Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP).
Johnny, in a statement in Warri, said those calling for the sack of Otuaro were only afraid that it will not be business as usual for them in the Amnesty office, as Otuaro has vowed to stop any form of corrupt tendencies in the Amnesty office.
The Gbaramatu chief also condemned what he believed were orchestrated blackmail and media attacks on Ijaw National leader, Chief Edwin Kiagbodo Clark, Chief Government Ekpemupolo alias Tompolo.
