Xavi Hernandez, a rival of Real Madrid's, stayed with FC Barcelona, which was lauded by Ancelotti during Thursday's pre-match press conference.

The original announcement of Xavi's resignation was for June 30. Xavi, however, decided to stay with Barça until his contract expires in 2025 after meeting with president Joan Laporta at his house on Wednesday evening.

In response to a question regarding this, Ancelotti stated that Xavi "has done a good job at Barça" when addressing the media ahead of Friday's league match with Real Sociedad. "He knows the club well and it's a good decision for him to stay," the manager said.

The two most popular teams in La Liga couldn't agree on anything that happened in the most recent El Clasico, which the hosts won 3-2 at the Bernabeu to widen their lead atop the league.

In spite of Xavi's "embarrassment" at the lack of goal line technology and refereeing in Spain, president Joan Laporta has threatened to request a rematch of the match if it is determined that Lamine Yamal's first-half effort indeed went into Andriy Lunin's net.

Everyone here has a different opinion, and that's okay. No problem," Ancelotti, ever the diplomat, remarked. "I don't think Laporta has asked for a repeat of the Clasico," said he.

Everything that goes on around us has no effect on us; we're just happy. We're overjoyed, and our goal is to have a spectacular season finale. Words are like sand in the wind; complaints are just people's ideas, Ancelotti put it.

The Madrid boss has stated that his team is "looking forward to the game" in regards to the upcoming match against La Real. Mathematically, we could win the league if we win by just seven points.

He believed that the game versus La Real will be difficult. Ancelotti said that Jude Bellingham and Rodrygo will travel to San Sebastian with the squad, despite the fact that they both skipped Thursday's training.

"Bellingham and Vinicius, both of them" was Ancelotti's selection for the Ballon d'Or later this year. At the France Football gong ceremony in Paris, though, only one victor will have the chance to unseat Lionel Messi, the former idol of Barcelona.
