Former Senate President Adolphus Wabara has reaffirmed his claim of rejecting a N250 million bribe to support former President Olusegun Obasanjo's controversial third-term agenda. In an interview on "Untold Stories with Adesuwa" on YouTube, Wabara reiterated his stance, stating, "I didn't believe it when they said they were handing out N50 million per Senator."

Wabara clarified that his resignation was voluntary, emphasizing, "I resigned; I was not ousted." He passionately emphasized the importance of safeguarding Nigeria's democratic process, stating, "Without people like us, there wouldn't be democracy today." He believes that supporting the third-term agenda could have led to dictatorship and thwarted the emergence of leaders like Buhari and Tinubu.

Wabara also reflected on the lasting impact of the Biafra War, lamenting ongoing distrust and propaganda against the Igbo people. "We are still suffering from unfounded allegations," he said, addressing perceptions that Igbo people cannot be trusted despite their innocence in historical events.
