The Gen Z demos that was witnessed across the country was a result of government taxes and finance bill 2024. However, the demos opened wounds that was a time bomb. Kenyan youths mobilized themselves in X space where they demanded the President to drop the finance bill and restructure his government so that every Kenyan feels they are part of it.
President Ruto had earlier on stated that he was going to meet the youths through the X space formerly known as twitter so that he can have a conversation with them. The statehouse has rescheduled the meeting to Friday 5th 2024.
Kenyans have reacted to the meeting and here are some of the reactions:
"Let him first drop all the unconstitutional offices." Otieno said.
"It's not him to host.. it's Gen Z to host him, we know what will happen when he is the one hosting!" Deejay said
"Ruto is my president,my advice to him is,let him not hold that stupid space meeting with the so called GenZ. Mr president those are busy bodies and should be treated with the ignorance it deserve.stop falling a victim to their useless trap.He should continue creating a peaceful country for everyone." Martin Munene said
"If I were him I'd take this special moment to fire all those incompetent government officials he rewarded courtesy of election alignments, na hii everyone will defend him." Francis Kinyanjui Wairungi said.
"Gen z are willing except Babu Owino led Gen z who wants to overthrow the government...he should address the issue of jobs." Kigen Stanley said.
"How will he improve life of Kenyans such that in years to come we will be praising his effort. This can be achieved through creating jobs for Kenyans, improving rural roads etc." Kip Denno said
"Nothing will change Ruto will remain to be Ruto it's time we face it now even if he's going to address us 💪" Kello Ke said.
