'We Know About Sunday Igboho, Who Was A Yoruba Agitator But He's Free' -Kenneth Okonkwo

Nigerian Lawyer Barrister Kenneth Okonkwo has alleged that the actions of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the banned IPOB group, are not different from those of other regional agitators.

In an interview with Arise TV, Okonkwo highlighted that Kanu's activities are comparable to those of Sunday Igboho, a Yoruba activist, who remains free.

He also referenced members of Boko Haram, who, despite their attempts to establish a region where Western education is forbidden, have been released, rehabilitated, and reintegrated into society, with some even securing jobs within the military.

Okonkwo questioned why Kanu's situation is treated differently, implying a disparity in how various regional agitators are handled by the authorities.

He emphasized that while other groups have seen their members reintegrated and even rewarded, Kanu continues to face harsh treatment, suggesting an inconsistency in the approach to different regional movements within Nigeria.

He said in an interview with Arise TV, "Nnamdi Kanu has not done anything that others from different regions haven't done. We know about Sunday Igboho, who was a Yoruba agitator but he's free today. We know of the Boko Haram members who wanted a separate country where western education is forbidden.

Speaking further he stated that, "These people have been released. In the case of Boko Haram, they have been rehabilitated and reintegrated into society. They have even been given good jobs, including in our military. Why is Nnamdi Kanu's case different?"
