Opinion: Significant Improvement Exists In Fight Against Insecurity Under President Tinubu

opera.com 4 days ago

Even in the developed countries of the world, insecurity has remained endemic. Terrorist groups have always carried out attacks on targets but in some cases, they meet the fire-powers of security agents.

In the midst of their attacks, what is key is for the Government including that of Nigeria, to prepare and be ahead of them.

In time past, situations abound when The Nigerian military react after attacks have been carried out on targets, leaving people wondering and doubting their capability in nipping the situation in the bud, but in recent time, there have been proactiveness in the fight against insecurity. They are now taking the war to the enemies of Nigeria.

I recall that Nigerians, especially security experts, have always implored the military to take the fight to the terrorists, bandits among others causing a breach of peace. What I can say, is that there has been significant improvement in the fight which is also heartwarming.

There is indeed a departure from the stories we read on dailies in the past months when bandits, terrorists had a field day. Things are beginning to take shape as one hardly hears Boko Haram escapades.

At this point, the paramount thing is to sustain the tactics and approach which is responsible for the success. All criminal networks, links, must be completely destroyed and dismantled so that the relative peace Nigerians are enjoying currently under President Bola Tinubu will continue to see the light of the day.
