After details have just been circulating on different social media that Gen Z can hold protests today after they confirmed that they will still hold Protests today, Thursday, July 4, 2024, new details have just emerged about what is currently happening in Nairobi CBD.
According to the source, it has been revealed that several traders have not yet opened their businesses, fearing that Gen Z can storm the streets and even loot their properties.
Further, the latest reports have indicated that most parts of the CBD are deserted, and some police officers have been patrolling the area to probably deal with any protesters who might emerge.
Also, the businesses in CBD have been highly affected as traders are unable to run their businesses as usual, and some of them have been left behind, counting losses after goons looted their properties.
Gen Z has been sending information about protests on different social media sites, and most of the protest meetings are done on X.
Also, today, deputy president Rigathi Gachagua has asked Gen Z to stop protests and accept dialogue with the government.
Protests were organized by leaderless Gen Z, who also accused the government of President William Ruto of increasing taxes and, as a result, raising the cost of living in the country through the Financial Bill 2024.
Later, President William Ruto dropped the bill and confirmed that he was ready to listen to Kenyans and even hold dialogue with Gen Z.
