According to AIT, Rivers State Governor, Sim Fubara says he will never kneel before anybody in order to govern Rivers state; even if that was the purpose for which he was made governor.
Instead, the Governor says he would continue to stand on the side of righteousness and work to take the state to greater heights.
Speaking during a visit to former Governor Celestine Omehia to condole with his bereaved family over the death of their mother, Governor Fubara further called on the people, particularly the political class to refrain from the politics of bitterness and unite to build a better and prosperous Rivers State.
In the Ubima village in the Ikwerre local government district, Governor Fubara was at his predecessor's rural residence. He conveyed the word to political leaders by taking advantage of their heavy attendance at the funeral.
Celestine Omehia, on his part, expresses optimism that Governor Fubara would bring about the change that the people of Rivers State have been longing for. Additionally, he promised to fully back Governor Fubara.
