Renowned politician Chike Obidigbo has shed light on the convoluted circumstances surrounding the forcible rendition and incarceration of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader Nnamdi Kanu. The National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, must intervene, according to Obidigbo, who told the Daily Post that Kanu's situation had security ramifications.

He insisted that the president could influence the outcome even if he lacked the power to release Kanu. However, according to Obidigbo, the British government is a big obstacle to Kanu's release since his agitation harms British economic interests in Nigeria. According to the Anambra-born elder statesman, Britain and other foreign powers conspired to lure Kanu to Kenya, where he was arrested and subsequently brought to Nigeria.

He stated that the British High Commissioner in Nigeria was attempting to persuade Kanu to give up on the Biafran dream instead of denouncing his horrific abduction and sale. He claimed that the threat of retaliation stemming from Kanu's citizenship prevented his arrest in Britain, despite the fact that all of his activities took place on British soil.

"Being a British citizen, everything that Kanu said or did was done in Britain," he stated. However, the expense of his detention on British territory would have been too high due to the certain and probable reaction. "What Britain did was to join in the international conspiracy to lure Kanu to Kenya, knowing that Africans lack integrity and respect for laws."

His abduction in Kenya was followed by his illegal and forcible transfer to Nigeria. They would have faced severe consequences if they had done that anywhere else in the world besides Africa. It has been around three years since Nnamdi Kanu was detained in Kenya by the government of former President Muhammadu Buhari. He made an appearance in court following his extradition to Nigeria on what seemed to be treason and terrorism-related charges.
