The Head of Corporate Communications of the National Identity Management Commission, Kayode Adegoke, has stated that there was no leakage of personal information of Nigerians from NIMC's database. Kayode Adegoke noted that if Mr. Gbenga Sesan truly purchased the NIN of the Minister of Communication, Bosun Tijani, online for N100, then he (Gbenga Sesan) should have also been able to purchase his own as well.
Kayode Adegoke made this statement during an interview with a journalist on Arise Television. During the interview, Kayode Adegoke said, "Gbenga Sesan said he purchased Bosun Tijani's NIN, why did he (Gbenga Sesan) not purchase his own. The NIN slip he paraded is fake. That NIN slip is not our NIN slip."
"Check the NIN slip that we gave to you and compare it with the one that is being paraded online and you will discover that it is a fake NIN slip. That NIN slip Gbenga Sesan has been parading cannot be used to access anything without verification and authentication."
