In a Facebook video that was widely shared, Alhaji Asari Dokubo, a prominent chieftain of the Kalabari Kingdom, expressed strong concerns about the political dynamics in Rivers State. He specifically called out President Bola Tinubu and Nyesom Wike, the former governor of Rivers State, for what he perceives as a perilous approach to the state's political unrest.

Dokubo emphasized the importance of not underestimating the Ijaws and Igbos, the two major ethnic groups in Rivers State. He warned that these communities should not be taken lightly or disregarded, hinting at the potential for significant backlash.

In his critique, Dokubo urged President Tinubu to reflect on his current political strategies and question whether they align with the democratic principles he has long championed. He advised Tinubu to reconsider his actions, suggesting that the current trajectory could endanger both his allies and supporters.

He stated, "The path you (Tinubu) are treading is dangerous for us who have been with you, who have been through thick and thin with you. This path you are traveling is dangerous; it will not end well. You (Wike) can't take Rivers State for granted; you can't take the Ijaws, the Igbos who make Rivers State for granted."

Dokubo’s remarks highlight a deep concern about the potential consequences of current political decisions and strategies in Rivers State. His message serves as a cautionary note, urging key political figures to acknowledge and respect the complexities and sensitivities of the region’s ethnic makeup.
