An agency of the Federal Government known as the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) provided an answer to a woman's query on Tuesday, July 2, 2024. The woman resides in Ogun State but works in Lagos State, therefore she was wondering which of the two states had the right to collect her taxes.

Ogun State, not Lagos, where she is employed, is obligated to collect her taxes, according to the FIRS's X handle, as it is where she resides.

"I reside in Ogun and I hold a job in Lagos," the woman who initiated the FIRS investigation stated under her X handle, @lollylarry1. My tax money: who gets it? The governor of Nigeria, Dapo or Sanwo-Olu?

In response to her question, however, the FIRS revealed that her tax should be collected by Ogun State rather than her employer's Lagos State since that is where she resides.

Ogun State, where Governor Dapo resides, was mentioned by the FIRS.
