Post election after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu defeated both Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi to become Nigeria's president, what followed suit months after was Peter Obi embarking to the North to build boreholes for them and during their fasting period, he broke fast with them also not forgetting he's a Christian. Amid that, a picture has emerged online saying hypocrisy is when Peter Obi is a Muslim on Friday and a Christian on Sunday. This was shared by one of his aide, Dr Mo (Moses Paul) on X.
Addressing it, Dr Mo (Moses Paul), hypocrisy, is when you exploit religion to create divisions and sow discord among people, using it as a tool for selfish gain. In contrast, working towards unity and progress is the antithesis of hypocrisy. This is exactly what Obi represents.
When you genuinely strive for the betterment of society, bringing people together and encouraging inclusivity, that is authenticity in action. It is important to recognize and call out hypocrisy when we see it, as with the Muslim Muslim ticket that has brought everything including the economy to its knees. Instead, let us choose the path of sincerity and unity. Let us not use religion as a means to fragment and manipulate but rather as a force for good, to uplift and unite. By doing so, we can build a society that values truth, understanding, and the well-being of all individuals, regardless of their beliefs or backgrounds, for God is love. Mr. Peter Obi embodies this love.
