According to Daily Post, Veteran entertainer Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has indicated that the release of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), is imminent. This announcement comes amidst ongoing tensions and speculations surrounding Kanu’s prolonged detention. Charly Boy's remarks are expected to fuel discussions on the political and social implications of Kanu's potential release, particularly in the southeastern region of Nigeria.

In a recent post on X, Charly Boy addressed and dismissed the notion of deep-seated animosity between Northerners and Igbos. He argued that such perceptions are exaggerated and do not reflect the true nature of inter-ethnic relationships in the country. His statements seek to alleviate fears of regional discord and emphasize the need for unity and mutual understanding among Nigeria's diverse ethnic groups.

Charly Boy also took the opportunity to caution Igbos who may be undermining efforts aimed at securing Kanu’s freedom. He stressed the importance of solidarity within the community to ensure that collective efforts are not in vain. By highlighting internal sabotage, Charly Boy called for a more coordinated and unified approach to the advocacy for Kanu's release.

In his commentary, Charly Boy made a reference to Omoyele Sowore, a notable activist, acknowledging that while he may not always agree with Sowore, he believes Sowore’s stance on Nnamdi Kanu's rights is correct. This endorsement from Charly Boy underscores the broader support for Kanu’s release among prominent figures advocating for human rights and political freedom in Nigeria.

According to Charly Boy: “I am not a Sowore fan but on Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s right, he got it right.
