Governor Otti Inaugurates 100-Bed Multi-Purpose Hospital Sponsored by SDGs

Governor Alex Otti of Abia State officially opened a new 100-Bed Mother and Child Centre in Ugwunabo, Abia State on July 3, 2924. This multipurpose hospital, funded by the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals (OSSAP-SDGs), aims to enhance healthcare accessibility within the state.


Governor Otti acknowledged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his support in establishing the facility and pledged to efficiently manage it. He also highlighted plans to create a medical village to reduce the need for residents to seek medical care outside the state.


Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals, expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for his leadership in collaborating with state governments to achieve SDGs in Nigeria. She emphasized the importance of integrating SDGs into national and sub-national development plans to combat poverty and promote global prosperity by 2030.


The Mother and Child Centre features advanced medical equipment and facilities crucial for achieving SDG-3 on 'Quality Health and Well-being'. Princess Orelope-Adefulire concluded by reaffirming commitment to SDGs and promoting healthcare excellence for all Nigerians.
