Osinbajo, Amaechi, El-Rufai, Others Are Political Orphans Excluded From Tinubu’s Gov't-Salihu Lukman

A former National Vice Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for the North-West, Salihu Lukman, has voiced his worries about the growing sense of hopelessness in Nigeria.

Vanguard reported that, in an effort to overthrow President Bola Tinubu's administration, Lukman has urged a number of political figures to unite.

His words brought to light a rising belief among some political groups that, in order to solve the nation's urgent problems, unity is required. Lukman brought attention to the fact that a number of well-known APC figures have been marginalized in the present government.

These include Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, Chief Rotimi Amaechi, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, Sen. Ibikunle Amosun, and Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola. Former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo was also mentioned.

These people, who were important members of the party, are no longer in positions of power under Tinubu, leaving them politically orphaned and ostracized. The APC's future and possible effects on its cohesion and efficacy have come under scrutiny due to this omission.

Lukman's remarks, which highlight the marginalized leaders' increasing distance from the center of political power, are indicative of a larger discomfort inside the party.

It may be more difficult for the party to remain together and effectively tackle national issues if such powerful individuals are marginalized.

One of the most important steps in resolving Nigeria's problems is the leaders' appeal for cooperation and togetherness.

In Lukman's words, "APC leaders, such as former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Chief Rotimi Amaechi, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, Sen. Ibikunle Amosun, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, and others who are more like political orphans on account of being excluded from President Tinubu’s administration, have been pushed to the peripheral edges of Nigerian politics."
