Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has said there is nothing wrong for him to visit the rehabilitation of the assembly quarters.

Fubara vaunted that the Assembly quarters is part of the state property under his control, adding that with the emergence of a new speaker, the facility would be given a facelift.

According to Punch, he said, "Are the assembly quarters not part of my property? Is there anything wrong in going to check how things are going on there?

“You are aware of the developments. We have a new speaker, and I went there to see for myself how things are.

“There might be a few things I might want to do there for the good of our people.

Recall that the Rivers State Governor has been in battle with the 27 Wike-Pro Lawmakers over his impeachment. According to NAN, it was reported that five persons loyal Fubara invaded and burn down the assembly quarters to stop his impeachment process.

Meanwhile the IGP had petitioned the Federal High Court in Abuja to arrest Edison Ehie and some loyalists of the governor over alleged involvement in the burning of the state House of Assembly.

In the seven charges preferred against them, they were accused of committing alleged terrorism offences by invading, vandalising, and burning down Rivers State House of Assembly in the wake of the political crisis that rocked Port Harcourt in October last year.

However, in an ex-parte application brought by the Inspector General of Police, Ehie, and five others were the defendants.

The trial judge, Justice Emeka Nwite in the fresh application issued a warrant of arrest against the defendants.
