Roy Keane blasts Man Utd star after his worrying performance against Germany

According to Metro, Ian Wright and Roy Keane heavily criticized Manchester United striker Ramus Hojlund following Denmark's exit from Euro 2024 after a defeat to Germany.

The hosts secured a 2-0 victory in Dortmund on Saturday night, a match briefly halted in the first half due to a severe thunderstorm hitting the city.

Denmark's elimination saw Hojlund fail to score throughout the competition.

Before the weather interruption, Denmark had two significant opportunities to take the lead, both involving Hojlund. In the first instance, Nico Schlotterbeck's mistake in his own penalty area allowed Hojlund to steal possession. Instead of aiming across the goal, he opted for the near post, striking the ball into the side netting.

After the game resumed post-storm, Hojlund found himself one-on-one with German goalkeeper Manuel Neuer. Attempting to chip the ball over Neuer, his effort was saved.

In the second half, Hojlund missed another chance, shooting straight at the goalkeeper despite an impressive control of the ball in the box.

Former United player Keane criticized Hojlund's decision-making during the first opportunity, emphasizing the need for clinical finishing in such crucial moments.

"We said before the game, if he gets one or two chances, he has to be clinical. And he’s not been," Keane remarked. "These are tough chances, they are not easy."

Wright was even more critical of Hojlund's performance, particularly in the second chance, questioning his decision-making under pressure.

"For this second chance, he takes a little step just before he gets to the ball. That gives the goalie some time," Wright pointed out. "The goalkeeper is waiting for anything then."

Germany progressed to the quarter-finals of Euro 2024, securing victory through goals from Kai Havertz and Jamal Musiala.
