On 8th May, 2024 the former Senate President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and also the current Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Adolphus Wabara while reacting to the recent statement of the Rivers State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Tony Okocha that the Rivers State House of Assembly should impeach the Governor of the State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara appealed to the President of Nigeria, Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu to called Nyesom Wike to order so that his actions in Rivers did not confirm the suspicion that the APC has an agenda to turn Nigeria into one-party State.

According to Vanguard, the Chairman, of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Adolphus Wabara said "I want to appeal to Mr. President to call his appointee, Nyesom Wike to order so that his actions in Rivers do not confirm the suspicion that APC has an agenda to turn Nigeria into a one-party state. Wike should allow peace to reign in Rivers State. Mr President should appreciate the importance of Rivers as a major revenue base of the country, and should the trouble they are stoking erupt, Nigeria will not escape the aftermath.”

If you could recall, some days ago the Rivers State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Tony Okocha asked the members of the Rivers State House of Assembly to immediately commence impeachment proceedings against the Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara.
