According to the report from the Vanguard, the former Federal Commissioner for Information and South-South Leader, Chief Edwin Clark highlights Wike's financial support to the PDP during its time of need, emphasizing his crucial role in keeping the party afloat. He alleges that Wike's financial contributions came with strings attached, leading him to manipulate the party by using threats and intimidation. He highlights Wike's defiance during the party convention, noting that he dared the party to hold the event in Port Harcourt, which the party eventually acquiesced to.

According to him, Wike was the one who initially supported Uche Secondus for the position of National Chairman of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), but then later orchestrated his ouster barely two months before the party's National Convention.

During the period of time between Ahmed Makarfi and Ali Modu Sheriff, he stated, "It is true that the party did not have any funds for a period of time before that." In terms of financial support, Nyesom Wike was the only governor who provided assistance to the party.

In the same approach that he always does, he insulted and humiliated the party once additional.

He challenged them to cancel the party convention that was scheduled to take place in Port Harcourt. It was the party that bowed down to him.

His behaviour of harassing and intimidating the party persisted even after that event. In one case, he went against the views of the majority of the other members of the party and supported Uche Secondus in his bid to become the national chairman of the party. Two months prior to the National Convention of the party, the same Barr. Wike was the one who spearheaded and sponsored the ouster of Uche Secondus.
