Elder statesman Chief Edwin Clark has praised EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede for his dedication in tackling corruption cases, especially those involving former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello. According to a recent article in Punch, Chief Clark praised Olukoyede's bravery for discussing the former Governor Bello case on television. He dismissed those who criticized the TV discussion as a media trial, stating that Olukoyede is doing the right thing. Clark stressed the urgency of tackling corruption, citing former President Buhari's caution about the severe consequences of not doing so. He called on Nigerians to support the EFCC Chairman's efforts against corruption.

Clark commended Olukoyede for his bravery and perseverance in tackling significant corruption cases involving ex-governors, some of whom now serve in the Senate or the current government as ministers. He encouraged Olukoyede to promptly investigate and hasten the trial of other individuals accused since 2007.

According to Clark's words: "Buhari used to say, 'If we do not kill corruption, corruption will kill us'.
