NNPP Drags Kwankwaso, 13 Others To EFCC

The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), has dragged its 2023 Presidential candidate, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and 13 others to the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) over alleged fraud.

The petition signed by the National Secretary of the party, Oginni Olaposi Sunday, and sighted by Vanguard in Abeokuta, was titled: ‘Petition against Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and 13 others over mismanagement of NNPP funds’, was dated 2nd May, 2024 and was submitted to the EFCC headquarters, in Abuja same day.

The petitioner, Oginni said, “in 2022, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso through his representatives, led by Elder Buba Galadima and other very well respected Nigerians, which include but not limited to Senator Hunkuyi Suleiman and Prof. Bem Angwe approached the leadership of the NNPP at the country home of Dr. Boniface Okechukwu Aniebonam; founder of our great party.

Tinubu Greets Reps Deputy Speaker, Benjamin Kalu On Birthday

PRESIDENT Bola Tinubu has extended his warm congratulations to the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Benjamin Kalu, on his birthday.

A statement issued on Sunday by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, stated that the “Deputy Speaker is of a remarkable leadership trajectory – from serving as Chairman of Bende Local Government Area in Abia State at a young age; to offering his expertise as Senior Special Assistant to a governor, and to winning the seat for Bende Federal Constituency in 2019.”

According to the statement, “The President joins family, friends, and members of the National Assembly to celebrate an exceptional gentleman who has broken concrete moulds to rise through the political ladder.


Nigeria Restricts Power Export To Benin Republic, Niger, Togo Amid Metering Gap

The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission has ordered the System Operator, a department within the Transmission Company of Nigeria, to cap power supply to cross-border customers in Benin Republic, Niger, and Togo.

The directive, outlined in a document titled “Interim Order on Transmission System Dispatch Operations, Cross-border Supply, and Related Matters,” will be in effect for six months initially, subject to review.

Nigeria currently supplies electricity to neighbouring countries, including Benin Republic, Niger Republic, and Togo.


Canadian Mayor Praises Lagos Under Tinubu At Obi's Event

The Mayor of Brampton, Patrick Brown, has stated his admiration for Lagos State when he visited in the year 2007.

Brown said this at a townhall meeting hosted by the Coalition of Nigerian Canadian Interest Groups based in Canada to honour the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

As seen in a video posted late Saturday by a tweep, Wale Adedayo, tweeting as @Mario9jaa, Obi was seen standing beside Brown as he addressed the cheering audience.
