Rivers: I'm Sure Gov Fubara Would Have Realized He Made An Unfortunate Statement - Timothy Osadolor

opera.com 3 days ago

Timothy Osadolor, the Deputy National Youth Leader of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), recently addressed comments made by Sir Siminalayi Fubara, the Governor of Rivers State. Fubara had expressed his disappointment with the PDP, claiming that the party had failed them, which led them to shift their focus to a movement rather than the party itself.

According to a report by Punch, Osadolor revealed that the PDP is currently involved in legal proceedings concerning the political situation in Rivers State and has adhered to all the demands made by Governor Fubara. Despite this compliance, Fubara did not extend his support to the party when it sought his assistance in these legal matters.

Osadolor criticized Governor Fubara's statements, suggesting that the governor might regret his words. He emphasized that the PDP has fulfilled all of Fubara's requests, indicating that the party has been proactive and supportive in addressing the issues at hand. "I am sure Governor Fubara would have realized that he made an unfortunate statement. It is unfortunate. First, there is nothing he wants the party to do that the party has not done for him," Osadolor stated.

He further elaborated that the PDP is actively involved in court cases regarding the political issues in Rivers State, and thus, it is unreasonable for Fubara to expect the National Working Committee (NWC) to contradict its efforts. "The party is in court over the same Rivers State matter. So, he cannot start asking the NWC to probate and reprobate at a time," Osadolor explained.

Osadolor concluded by highlighting that Governor Fubara, despite being a seasoned politician, should understand the constitutional processes and the party's consistent efforts. "He has been a politician, but you don’t need to be a politician to understand the workings of the Constitution," he remarked.

In summary, Osadolor's response underscores the PDP's commitment to addressing the political challenges in Rivers State and criticizes Governor Fubara for his lack of support and unfortunate comments about the party. The Deputy National Youth Leader's remarks reflect the party's ongoing efforts and dedication to fulfilling its responsibilities, even in the face of internal disagreements.
