In a recent interview with Arise News, A Nigerian lawyer, Barrister Festus Ogwuche, has expressed confusion over the jubilation by supporters of Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, following the Appeal Court judgement. Ogwuche stated that he sees no basis for the celebration, as the judgement merely declared the lower court's lack of jurisdiction and maintained the status quo.

Ogwuche argued that there is no substantive issue remaining before the court to justify the order to maintain the status quo, rendering the initial celebration seemingly misplaced. He emphasized that the judgement did not address the merits of the case, leaving him puzzled about what Wike's supporters are celebrating.

In his own words, ''I saw some people jubilating and I don't know what they are holding on to. I don't see what is there in that judgement that should give them any cause of Joy. What is important is that the Court later went on to say that the status quo must be maintained. What amounts to the status quo is what we may not rightly state here."
