Top Manchester United midfielder was spotted wearing protective medical cast ahead their EPL clash with Crystal Palace.

The Red Devils are preparing for what could be a difficult game on Monday when they travel to Selhurst Park to face Palace. United has seen just two wins in their last five games in all competitions and would be hoping to leave London with a win today.

There are concerns that Manchester United might not travel with a full squad ahead of the game, given that club captain Bruno Fernandes has already been listed as a doubt for the away trip.

The 29-year-old midfielder sustained an injury in the FA Cup semi-final win against championship side Coventry City. However, he has since played two straight games for Utd, one against Sheffield United and the other one against Burnley despite having a bandage wrapped around his right wrist during the game.

Two weeks on from that injury, it still appears that the wrist has not healed properly and that the Portugal international is still having problems moving his hands.

Fernandes was pictured leaving a coffee shop in Wilmslow on Friday morning with his right wrist in a protective medical cast, according to a report by Manchester Evening News.

Should there be any big concern about his wrist, it could be the first match the former Sporting man misses through injury for the Old Trafford side since signing for the club from Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon during the winter transfer window in 2020.

In a pre match press conference on Thursday, Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag gave an update on the midfielder's wellbeing, stating that he faces a race against time to be fit for their away game this coming Monday.

This were Erik Ten Hag's words and I quote. “After the game (vs Burnley) we had an issue with Bruno so he is a doubt for Monday, but he will fight to be a part of this game, as we know with Bruno. “Never rule him out for any game and he is giving his best to be available.”

Further more, United could also be without Scotland international Scott McTominay and England international Marcus Rashford on Monday night, with reports claiming that they are doubts for the game.
