Several reactions have surfaced online after the candidate of the Labour Party, LP, in the forthcoming Edo state governorship election, Olumide Akpata was seen kneeling in front of the Oba Of Benin, His Royal Majesty, Omo N'Oba N'Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba Ewuare II.

The pictures were shared on the official X handle of Olumide Akpata on Sunday.

According to him, the moment was captured after he attended a thanksgiving service in honour of the revered monarch. Olumide Akpata said the service was a beautiful display of unity, bringing together people from all walks of life.

"Today, I had the distinct honour of attending the midyear thanksgiving service of our revered monarch, His Royal Majesty, Omo N'Oba N'Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba Ewuare II, CFR, the Oba of Benin. The service, held at the historic Holy Aruosa Cathedral in Benin City, was a profound celebration of our rich cultural heritage and spiritual traditions. The service was a beautiful display of unity, bringing together people from all walks of life. As we joined in celebration and gratitude, it reaffirmed the enduring strength of our shared heritage and the blessings that continue to grace our land".
