Mr. Obi Aguocha, the lawmaker representing Ikwuano/Umuahia North/Umuahia South Federal Constituency in Abia State, visited former President Muhammadu Buhari at his residence in Daura on Saturday to appeal for his assistance in securing the release of Mr. Nnamdi Kanu.

Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has been in detention since June 2021 since his extraordinary rendition from Kenya.

Aguocha expressed regret over past actions involving Kanu and emphasised the potential of a political solution to resolve grievances and promote national unity.

No Visa Ban On Nigerians – Turkey Embassy

The Turkish Embassy in Nigeria has confirmed that there is no visa ban on Nigerian passport holders, as against reports that have raised concern.

On Thursday, reports surfaced, suggesting that Ethiopia, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates had revoked certain privileges for Nigerian passport holders, such as visa-on-arrival, e-visa, and outright passport issues.

Specifically, Turkey no longer allows Nigerian passport holders to obtain its e-visa, which was previously a seamless process.


VeryDarkMan Arrested For Exposing Alleged Fraudster, 3 Weeks After Release From Police Custody

A social media influencer and blogger, Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan has been rearrested by the Nigerian police.

His lawyer, Mr Deji Adeyanju on Sunday disclosed that his client has again been arrested, adding that VeryDarkMan was apprehended for exposing someone who allegedly duped a Nigerian abroad. 

In a post on his X account on Sunday, Adeyanju said, “Our client, @thatverydarkman has just been arrested by the police on the instruction of CP Igwe for exposing someone who allegedly duped a Nigerian abroad.

Contrary to viral reports on social media on Sunday, legendary Nollywood actor, Olu Jacobs, is not dead.

This was disclosed by the spokesperson of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Kate Henshaw.

LEADERSHIP reports that the 81-year-old veteran actor has been battling some health challenges for some time now.
