Emeka Rollas Ejezie, President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), raised serious concerns about safety measures on set before Junior Pope's tragic passing in Nollywood. He highlighted an incident where the crew went onto the water without proper life jackets just a day before Junior Pope's death.
Ejezie emphasized the potential legal action being considered in response to these events, aiming to hold the Association of Movie Producers and Adanma Luke Production accountable for their roles in the circumstances leading up to Junior Pope's death.
In response to Junior Pope's passing, the AGN President directed members to refrain from collaborating with Adanma Luke, the producer of the movie 'Another Side of Life,' associated with the fatal incident. Furthermore, the Association of Movie Producers (AMP) announced the suspension of Adanma Luke pending the completion of an investigation into the boat mishap.
However, Adanma Luke refuted these actions in an online video, claiming that Junior Pope had been offered a life jacket which he allegedly refused, citing it as unclean. He stated in an interview with Arise TV that legal preparations were underway based on the investigative report.
