The Force Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Police, Muyiwa Adejobi, on Monday, June 24, 2024, gave reason why many policemen live and act with impunity.
He gave the reason on his X handle, adding that they do so because many people are not always patient to take up and address some of the issues whenever the officers flout orders or engage in unethical behaviours.
Adejobi said these while responding to the post of a man who said some policemen always disregard orders from superiors at the stations and would say they can only listen to their immediate bosses.

Responding to the post however, Adejobi told him that many of them flout the orders of superiors, live and act with impunity because many people are not always patient to take up and address some of these issues.
He wrote: "Let us have information about those policemen who flout the orders of the IGP and see what happens. It's because many people are not always patient to take up and address some of these issues. That's why many of them live and act with impunity.
"Let's be ready and committed to having some changes in the system. Those their bosses they refer to are posted by the Force Headquarters and they are to key into our reform agenda. It's not debatable or negotiable."
Many people have always accused police officers, especially those at checkpoints, of engaging in a lot of impunity including brutality, among others, as they said the officers will tell the citizens that no senior officer can do anything to them.
