A trailer driver suffered broken legs while two others had head injuries when the driver of another trailer collided with their vehicle as he drove against traffic in what is commonly known as "one way," it was gathered on Thursday, July 4, 2024.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), which announced the accident on its X handle on Thursday, said it occurred at Ajegunle Bus Stop, heading towards Toll-gate, Sango.

Scene of the accident, as posted by LASTMA on Thursday.

It was gathered that the accident involved a trailer carrying malt drink and another carrying floor tiles, as reports said the driver of one of them, who drove against traffic, had a head-on collision with the other trailer, causing both trailers to fall.

However, following the accident, LASTMA officials who raced to the scene discovered that the driver of one of the trailers suffered broken legs while two others in the vehicle also had head injuries and they were rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention.

The two trailers lying on the highway caused traffic bottleneck, as the agency has called for the attention of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) for the quick removal of the trailers from the highway in order to ensure free flow of traffic.

LASTMA expresses worries that despite ongoing government campaigns against driving against traffic on various roads in the state, drivers continue to violate the Lagos State Transport Sector Reform Law, 2018.
