Sen. Natasha Reacts to the Controversial Anti-Grazing Bill, Stressing Human Rights over Livestock

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan of Kogi State shared her views on the controversial anti-grazing bill and the issue of equal rights for Nigerians of diverse ethnicities.

She criticized the notion of placing cows on the same level as human beings, stressing the need to prioritize human rights and well-being over livestock concerns.

She pointed out that there may have been a misunderstanding behind the anti-grazing bill. Senator Natasha underscored that the Nigerian constitution allows for freedom of movement and conducting business across the nation.

She advocated for individuals from various ethnic backgrounds—be it Igbo, Yoruba, or other southern and eastern regions—to have the liberty to establish businesses in the northern parts of the country.

According to The Sun, Senator Natasha said, "I think there was just some misconception and that what the distinguished Senator was trying to say was that the Nigerian constitutions allow free movement of persons and businesses across the country. That means if you’re an Igbo man, or you are a Yoruba man from the South or East, you are free to establish a business in the northern part."
