The police have announced the arrest of Ibrahim Abdullahi, also known as Mande, believed to be a mastermind behind the attackers on a Kaduna-Abuja train. This incident occurred in March 2022, resulting in numerous abductions and casualties.
According to Daily Trust, it was reported that Mande was apprehended by the anti-kidnapping unit of the Kaduna State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) on January 12, 2024. Police Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, disclosed that Mande confessed to leading a kidnapping syndicate operating along the Kaduna-Abuja Highway.
He was paraded alongside over 30 other suspects arrested for various crimes in the state.
However, while Senator Shehu Sani, who happens to be the former senator representing the Kaduna Central Senatorial District, was reacting to this development on his verified X handle, he said, "It is pleasing and commendable to learn that the Nigerian Police have finally arrested the masterminds of the 2022 Kaduna Abuja Train kidnappings. They killed and destroyed the lives of others. Justice must be done."
