Today marks a significant day for many Nigerians as they commemorate the 14th year since the passing of former Nigerian President Umaru Musa Yar'Adua. Though he departed from this world in 2010, his legacy continues to resonate deeply in the hearts of the people.

Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, a prominent Nigerian lawyer, politician, and former governor of Sokoto State, took to his official platform to honor the memory of President Yar'Adua. Reflecting on the day of his passing, Tambuwal emphasized Yar'Adua's qualities as a true democrat and leader, highlighting his humility, vision, and commitment to the rule of law.

Tambuwal acknowledged the profound impact of Yar'Adua's death on Nigeria's political landscape, describing it as leaving a significant void. He praised Yar'Adua's patriotism and dedication to institutionalizing democracy and unity in Nigeria. Tambuwal also expressed personal admiration, noting Yar'Adua's role as a political mentor who inspired a generation to prioritize building strong institutions over relying on individual power.

In his long tweet, Aminu Tambuwal said "Umaru Musa Yar'Adua was a political mentor to me and many others who believed in building stronger institutions and systems rather than relying on powerful individuals and today, I join well-meaning Nigerians, family, and friends to honour the legacy of this great man and one of Nigeria's visionary leaders."

Also, he recognized the transient nature of life and offered prayers for Yar'Adua's soul to rest in peace in Al-Jannah Firdaus.
