APC Suspends Rep Member For Anti-Party

The All Progressive Congress, Zamfara State Chapter, has suspended a member of the National Assembly representing Birnin Magaji /KauraNamoda, Hon Aminu Sani Jaji, indefinitely.

The Zamfara APC Publicity Secretary, Yusuf Idris, stated this in a press statement made available to newsmen on Friday.

Idris explained that the suspension of the lawmaker became necessary following a discovery by the party of his political misconduct which included anti-party activities that led to the failure of the party in the last general elections in the state.

Wike- I'm Not Distracted By Rivers Crisis

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, says he is not distracted by the ongoing crisis in Rivers State but is instead focused on his duties as a minister.

Wike made the statement during a final inspection tour of projects to be inaugurated in the nation’s capital on Friday.

The former Governor of Rivers State and his successor, Governor Siminalyi Fubara, have been at loggerheads since October 2023, when some lawmakers in the state began impeachment proceedings against the governor.


PDP No Longer Exists In Osun- Oyetola

Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, on Friday in Osogbo declared that the fortune of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party in Osun State has nosedived in the state with the gale of defection that hits its rank.

Oyetola, the immediate past governor of the state, spoke at a rally organised to receive PDP ex-National Deputy Chairman, Shuaib Oyedokun and ex-governorship aspirant on the platform of PDP, Dotun Babayemi and their supporters into APC.


Minister Drops Suit On Niger Orphan Marriage As Emir Promises Probe

The Minister of Women Affairs, Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, said she has withdrawn her legal action over the marriage of 100 orphaned girls in Niger State.

Kennedy-Ohanenye confirmed reaching an agreement with the Emir of Kontagora, Niger State, Alhaji Mohammed Muazu and the Speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly, Abdul Malik Sarkindaji, to empower the girls through alternative means.

The minister stated this during a press briefing in Abuja on Friday.


Edo PDP Gov Candidate Supporters Fault Okpebolo's Flood Claim

The media organisation of the Peoples Democratic Party’s governorship candidate in Edo State, Asue Ighodalo, has dismissed a claim by the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate, Senator Monday Okpebolo, on a flooded portion of an unspecified road in the Government Residential Area of Benin, the state capital.

The Team Asue Media Organisation said it was worrisome that despite the enormous number of issues to be discussed during the ongoing governorship campaign in the state, the APC and its candidate, Okpebolo, “have made the peddling of lies and propaganda their primary focus.”
