According to Daily Post, Chief Sunny Onuesoke, a prominent member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State, has asserted that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is on the path to extinction before 2027 due to the widespread hardship affecting the country. Onuesoke, a former gubernatorial candidate of the PDP, made these remarks during an interview in Warri, highlighting the severe economic difficulties faced by Nigerians.

In his commentary, Onuesoke emphasized the escalating cost of living, pointing out that even basic food items have become unaffordable for many citizens. He noted that a basket of garri now costs ₦4,000, beans ₦8,300, and rice ₦12,000. According to Onuesoke, these prices are indicative of the dire economic situation, where the average Nigerian struggles to afford three meals a day, with garri becoming a staple even for those involved in political corruption.

Onuesoke also mentioned that many supporters of the APC and the general populace are merely pretending that the situation is manageable, but in reality, they are eagerly anticipating the opportunity to vote out President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his administration. He claimed that the promise of renewed hope under Tinubu's leadership has not materialized, leaving many disillusioned and frustrated.

The PDP chieftain concluded by stating that the ongoing hunger crisis is so severe that it is leading to extreme measures among citizens, including suicide. He believes this widespread despair will lead to the collapse of the APC, as the ruling party fails to address the critical needs of the populace, pushing Nigeria towards a political shift before the next general election.

He said: “Whether you like it or not, APC will be extinct before 2027 because the hunger in Nigeria is serious. Many citizens who cannot cope are already committing suicide.
