Nigerian music star, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has spoken out amidst the ongoing legal dispute over custody of his daughter, Imade, with Sophia Momodu.

In a heartfelt Instagram message, Davido reaffirmed his dedication to his daughter's future, pledging to ensure she understands his efforts in their custody battle, according to a report by Vanguard.

Expressing his sentiments on social media, Davido stated, "Imade will grow up to see I fought for her .. as for now u can have her P.S she won’t be a child forever.. enjoy Imade Aurora Adeleke! Your father loves you!"

The statement follows Davido's public plea for joint custody of Imade, emphasizing his desire for continued involvement in her upbringing despite the challenges posed by the legal proceedings. Davido's message also addressed his frustration over the public discussion of personal tragedies, such as the loss of his son, which has been brought up during the custody dispute.

The legal battle, currently unfolding at the Lagos State High Court in Sabo, Yaba, has seen Momodu file a counter-affidavit opposing Davido's custody petition. Momodu argued against granting custody to Davido, citing concerns over his availability and ability to provide consistent care for their daughter.

In response to allegations regarding financial support, Momodu claimed that Davido had neglected financial obligations, potentially jeopardizing Imade's education by failing to pay her school fees. These claims contradict Davido's assertion that he has met his financial responsibilities toward his daughter.
