No room for failure, Eno warns Permanent Secretaries.

According to Vanguard, Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has issued a stern warning to twelve newly appointed permanent secretaries, urging them to demonstrate unwavering commitment and competence in advancing his ARISE governance agenda. Swearing in the officials in Uyo on Tuesday, the governor emphasized the pivotal role they would play as administrative heads of their respective ministries in driving forward the state's development objectives.


Addressing the newly sworn-in permanent secretaries, Governor Eno underscored the imperative of implementing the ARISE Agenda across all sectors of the state's governance apparatus. He emphasized the need for efficiency and accountability, stating unequivocally that his administration is one of action, not excuses. Governor Eno stressed that the people of Akwa Ibom elected their leaders to deliver tangible results, leaving no room for failure or complacency.


Highlighting the achievements of his administration over the past eleven months, Governor Eno outlined key areas of focus, including agricultural revolution, rural development, infrastructural projects, advanced security measures, and educational advancement. He reiterated his commitment to fostering innovation and excellence in governance, emphasizing the importance of fresh ideas and proactive leadership.


In line with his vision to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the state civil service, Governor Eno announced plans to reshuffle the permanent secretaries and assign them to different ministries. This strategic move aims to inject new perspectives, drive innovation, and uphold values aligned with the administration's key performance indicators.


The newly appointed permanent secretaries expressed gratitude to Governor Eno for the opportunity to serve the state in their elevated roles. Mrs. Grace Akpan, speaking on behalf of her colleagues, pledged to discharge their duties with diligence and dedication, acknowledging the trust placed in them by the governor and the people of Akwa Ibom State.
