Sabatia Sub-County UDA allied member of parliament Sloya Clement, faced the wrath of angry constituents who shut him down as he tried to justify why he voted in favour of the withdrawn Finance Bill 2024.

In a video posted by Chanel 7 News TV East Africa, the angry crowd is seen and heard heckling down the lawmaker, in what looked like a funeral service as he tried to explain why he defied the voices his people and supported the bill.

Mr Clement who is President Ruto's close ally said that he decided to vote for the withdrawn Bil, because he went through the bill clause by clause and noted a number of benefits that his constituency would have received if the bill became a law.

"I voted yes for Finance Bill because of the benefits that I found inside it." He said before the crowd started heckling him down.

"Msinipigie kelele tafadhali, I want to tell you the benefits that I found inside." He pleaded. But this could not stop the angry whose voices become louder

"Toka hapo" some of them could be heard shouting t the lawmaker who posed for some seconds to calm the crowd

Mr Clement is not the first member of parliament to face the wrath of the people, other members of parliament who voted yes for the bill have even received beatings from the public while others have had their property destroyed and homes set on fire.
