Abia govt issues July first final warning to road dealers

Abia State Government has given road dealers in the state, particularly on the recently constructed roads in Aba and Umuahia, up to July first to vacate the streets .or brace up for heavy sanctions.

The final warning is contained in a proclamation issued on Thursday by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works, Izuchukwu Onwughara, on behalf of the Commissioner, Otumchere Oti.

The government additionally frowned at the activities of the mechanics who have converted part of the roads completely to their workshops and promised to decend heavily on anybody whose activities pose danger to the lifespan of the roads.

The assertion made accessible to Vanguard in Umuahia read: "Government is by this declaration reminding the overall population that executing business on the recently constructed roads in the state, and other unwholesome exercises like unloading of decline into the seepage, directing of borehole and sewage water to the asphalted streets, and mechanics fixing vehicles along the roads are precluded.
