judicial scholar Samuel Ogeh has stated that Oko-Jumbo and his accomplices, who were prohibited by the Rivers State House of Assembly, are still suspended notwithstanding the ongoing political and judicial battles.

In an interview with Channels Television, Ogeh stated that the House of Assembly and the legislation recognize Martin Amaewhule as the Speaker, even though the lower court's ruling was made outside of its purview.

He clarified that there is no disagreement on speakership and that Amaewhule's viewpoint has not changed.

He said, "As far as I'm concerned, as far as the law is concerned, as far as the Rivers House of Assembly is concerned, Oko-Jumbo and his colleagues who were suspended by the House of Assembly remain suspended."

"There's no contention about who the speaker is; the Court says Martin Amaewhule is the Speaker, notwithstanding what the lower court said, even though it was said out of jurisdiction."
