According to 90min, Real Madrid are in talks with Dani Carvajal over a new contract at the club, according to reports.

Right-back Dani Carvajal, a stalwart of Real Madrid for most of his career with a brief stint at Bayer Leverkusen, enjoyed a highly productive season last year, making 41 appearances across all competitions and achieving his most prolific campaign yet with six goals and five assists.

As he approaches the final year of his current contract this summer, there has been ongoing speculation about Carvajal's future at Madrid. However, it seems clear that Los Blancos are eager to retain the services of the 32-year-old defender.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid are preparing to initiate contract negotiations with Carvajal, who has won the Champions League six times with the club and is viewed as a key figure for their future plans. Before finalizing discussions with Carvajal, Real Madrid will need to address contract extensions for both Luka Modric and Lucas Vazquez, both of whom are expected to continue with the club.

Currently representing Spain at Euro 2024, Carvajal recently made headlines by becoming Spain's oldest-ever goalscorer in a European Championship during their opening group stage match, where he faced off against his Madrid teammate Modric.

Discussions regarding Carvajal's contract extension will commence upon his return from international duty, and Madrid will aim to swiftly reach an agreement. Carvajal himself has expressed a desire to finish his career at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Under the guidance of Carlo Ancelotti, Real Madrid aims to defend their La Liga title in the upcoming 2024/25 season and continue their pursuit of success in the Champions League.
