The presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 elections, Peter Obi, has condemned the alleged ‘deportation’ of Osun indigenes from Lagos State.

Recall that there were reports claiming that the Lagos State Government implemented the ‘deportation’ of Osun indigenes from the state.

The report claimed that police officers picked them up from various parts of Ajah, TBS, and Lagos Island.

Reacting to the development in a statement via his verified X handle, Obi described the alleged ‘deportation’ as a “violation of citizens’ rights.”

Obi stated, “I am deeply saddened and shocked by the recent reports of the deportation of citizens mostly of Osun State origin by Lagos State authorities.

“This is not merely a concern for Osun State but for all Nigerians who uphold the principles of unity, fairness, and justice.

“I find this action very distasteful because of the far-reaching effects it will have on our National cohesion and development. As a pan-Nigerian advocate, I vehemently oppose any form of discrimination, injustice, or violation of our citizens’ rights.

The Niger State Command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps has arrested a four-man syndicate suspected to be ritualists after they gang-raped a 13-year-old JSS 1 student.

The gang was also alleged to have cut off the manhood of a three-year-old boy in the state.

The NSCDC operatives said they were on a manhunt for the witch doctor, Baba Sada who, they said, directed the suspects to get the male genitals for a charm to make them immune to gun shot or knife attacks.

The Second-in-Command of the Niger State NSCDC, Abdulhamid Kabara, who made this known on Tuesday while parading the suspects and their victims disclosed that luck ran against the suspects after the 13-year-old Fatima Usman escaped from an uncompleted building they took her to in the outskirt of Pandogari in Rafi Local Government Area.
