Abia North senator, Orji Uzor Kalu, has urged the warring parties in Rivers State to sheathe their swords and allow peace to reign in the state.

Kalu gave the admonition when he paid a courtesy visit to the Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara on Friday.

While emphasizing the importance of peace and reconciliation, Kalu advised Fubara to reconcile with his predecessor, Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Minister, Nyesom Wike, saying that peace would be in the best interest of the state.

He informed the Rivers governor of his plan to involve President Bola Tinubu in facilitating a speedy reconciliation process.

Lawyer Advises On High Cost Of Food Stuff

US-based lawyer High Chief Owolabi Salis has advised President Bola Tinubu to concentrate on bringing down the high cost of food stuff.

In a statement,he urged the Federal government to address the issue headlong since it is over a year the current administration came on board.

He noted that over a year since the advent of the present administration, the high cost of food stuff had been a cause for concern,’

He said: “While it would have been at least tolerable if things had remained as bad as it was, the situation as presently being witnessed at this particular moment in time, however goes beyond the bound of tolerance to say the least, in view of the increasingly high cost of foodstuff which are fast getting out of the reach of the grossly marginalized poor.Certainly things should not continue this way in order to avert the disastrous consequences.

“Any government which is unable to provide food and medical care for it’s citizens especially the hungry poor,would grossly be failing in this most primary responsibility of government to the masses.”

Don’t politicise distribution of FG free fertilizer – CSO tells Adeleke

A coalition of civil societies in Osun State, The Osun Mastermind, TOM, has urged the State Governor, Ademola Adeleke to make sure that the fertilizer palliative of the federal government gets to genuine end users in the interest of the state.

The group also charged the State Government to ensure proper monitoring of contractors handling road projects in the state, saying some of the ongoing road projects are substandard.

But Governor Adeleke in a statement through his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, said the group is only being political with its criticism, saying the administration is transparent with the fertilizers consignment that arrives the state.

Addressing journalists in Osogbo on Saturday, the group’s Executive Director, Professor Wasiu Oyedokun-Alli, urged Governor Adeleke to ensure that civil servants did not bastardise the fertilizer distribution scheme to favour some section or powerful politicians to the detriment of genuine farmers.

Tinubu missed his step as he climbed onto the back of a military parade vehicle at Eagle Square.

The president tripped and almost fell on the Land Rover.

The incident sparked a frenzy on social media, with many Nigerians making a caricature of Tinubu.

VIDEO: US firm begins assembling electric cars at Lagos plant

American electric vehicle manufacturer, Saglev, has started assembling electric cars at its assembly plant in Ikorodu, Lagos.

This milestone was announced through a video shared by the Special Assistant to the President on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, on Thursday, June 27.

According to Saglev’s Chief Executive Officer, Sam Faleye, the electric vehicles can cover an impressive 300km on a single charge, equivalent to driving from Oshodi to Ajah in Lagos 10 times.

Faleye also highlighted the convenience of charging these vehicles, which only requires once or twice a week, with a full charge taking approximately four hours using a level two charger.
