Chief Bode George, a former military governor of Ondo State and former chairman of the PDP in Lagos, has expressed concerns about the unequal allocation of local government areas (LGAs) in Nigeria.

In a video shared by Silverbird TV, Chief George stated that Lagos State is the most populated state in the country and it has only 20 LGAs. He compared this to Ogun State, which also has 20 LGAs despite being much smaller in population compared to Lagos. He further highlighted that Kano State has 44 LGAs, and Jigawa, a state carved out of Kano, has 27 LGAs. He called for equity in the allocation of LGAs.

In Chief George's words: "Lagos is the most populated state in this country. It is the largest state both electorally and in population, we have only 20 LGAs, Ogun State next door also has 20 LGAs but Kano has 44 LGAs, and Jigawa that was carved out of Kano has 27. Where is the rationality here? Where is justice, where is fairness"
