Christian Eriksen and Rasmus Hojlund struggled to find their rhythm as Denmark fell 2-0 to Germany, exiting Euro 2024 in the round of 16, according to People's Person.

In a tightly contested first half, Denmark's defense held firm against Germany’s attacking onslaught. Despite Germany dominating possession and creating several chances, the Danish backline prevented any breakthroughs.

Early in the second half, Denmark thought they had taken an unexpected lead. Eriksen delivered a perfect free kick to Jannik Vestergaard, who headed it across the penalty area.

Joachim Andersen managed to score, but VAR ruled the goal offside, dashing Denmark’s hopes.

Eriksen was heavily involved in Denmark’s attacks, making three key passes. However, his overall performance was inconsistent.

He completed just 70% of his passes, connecting on 35 out of 50 attempts, and struggled with his crosses and long balls.

His physical presence was also lacking, losing his only duel and being dispossessed 22 times, the highest for any player on the field.

Hojlund's performance was slightly better in terms of physicality, winning four out of nine ground duels and two out of four aerial challenges.

However, he also lost possession 11 times. With only 30 touches, he completed 11 of 14 passes but didn’t attempt any crosses or long balls due to his role as a target man.

Hojlund had several scoring opportunities, taking four shots but failing to capitalize.

His two shots on target included one significant chance where he was one-on-one with the goalkeeper. Positioned slightly to the left of the goal, he shot directly at the keeper, missing a prime opportunity to score.

Defensively, Hojlund’s contributions were minimal, with only one successful tackle. His focus remained on attacking, but he was unable to pose a huge goal threat throughout the match.

Ultimately, it was a disappointing night for both Eriksen and Hojlund, who delivered mixed performances.
