According to a report by PUNCH, the Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, has confirmed that President Bola Tinubu has not interfered with the agency's activities since assuming office.

Speaking during a courtesy visit to the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Olukoyede stated unequivocally that the President has not attempted to "stop, impose, dictate or prescribe any directive" concerning the EFCC's operations.

Rather than interfere, Olukoyede revealed that the Tinubu administration has provided the EFCC with the necessary support and resources to effectively carry out its mandate of combating corruption in the country.

The EFCC Chairman was also quick to dispel any notion of a witch-hunt, emphasizing that his actions are solely driven by the need to ensure the successful implementation of President Tinubu's "grand strategic plans towards a better Nigeria."

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, who hosted the EFCC delegation, praised the agency's efforts and urged the public to cooperate with the Commission in its quest to rid the country of corruption.
