According to reports from PUNCH, the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has decided to suspend the previously announced power outage on the Osogbo/Akure and Ado-Ekiti 132KV transmission lines.

The planned outage, which was set to last for two months, according to an earlier announcement by BEDC Electricity Plc, has now been put on hold until further notice.

Evelyn Gbiwen, the Head of Branding and Corporate Communications at BEDC, issued a statement on Tuesday in Benin, confirming the suspension of the planned power outage.

"We wish to announce that we have just received a further update from TCN to the effect that TCN has suspended the planned outage on Osogbo/Akure and Ado-Ekiti 132KV lines," Gbiwen said.

She further clarified that the power outage, which was previously scheduled to take place from July 1 to August 31, has now been suspended until further notice.

"Our services will therefore continue without interruption," Gbiwen assured BEDC's customers in Ondo and Ekiti states.
