A public warning has been issued by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) regarding a planned demonstration against its operations. Following the EFCC's illegal raids, there have been numerous calls on social media for a nationwide protest against the organization.

According to the Daily Post, The anti-graft agency said in a statement on Wednesday that a covert organization has been inciting young Nigerians—including students—to demonstrate against the EFCC through social media campaigns. The EFCC claims that this campaign is being supported in opposition to its enforcement actions, especially those that go after cybercrimes.

The Commission raised worries on the involvement of people who are being investigated or prosecuted, speculating that these unscrupulous individuals might be trying to instigate a national uprising that might jeopardize the peace and security of the nation.

Although the EFCC respects citizens' freedom to demonstrate, it made it clear that it will not put up with any disturbances of the law, particularly in the areas surrounding its office locations across the country. In order to counter any possible threats, the Commission has declared that it is working with other security agencies.

The heads of postsecondary institutions, parents, and guardians have also been urged by the EFCC to stop their wards from being used as props in this anti-Commission campaign. It emphasized that protecting Nigeria's kids is the primary goal of its efforts to fight corruption and cybercrime.

The head of the EFCC's media and publicity department, Dele Oyewale, reaffirmed the organization's dedication to upholding Nigeria's security and stability in the face of these new difficulties.
