Shehu Sani, a former legislator, recently addressed the growing threat of terrorism and instability in Northern Nigeria in a statement. He spoke these things on Channels TV's Politics Today. Issues with leadership and governance, according to Shehu Sani, have persisted for a long time.

Sani said that the region's instability is a result of the years of neglect and bad administration that the area has endured. In bringing attention to the effects of terrorism on Northerners' everyday lives, he chastised both previous and current governments for ignoring the problem's origins.

Lack of safety, he said, has hampered regular activities and economic development, and many communities live in constant terror as a result. In the interview, Sani demanded that the government take a broader strategy and that immediate measures be taken to strengthen regional security. Poverty, unemployment, and inadequate education should all be part of this strategy.

Improved cooperation among security services was another point he made. "The current situation in the northern region of Nigeria is a result of three to four decades of poor leadership and governance," Shehu Sani stated.
