According to the report from Ukraine's Pravda, they revealed that Ukrainian troops from the 28th Mechanized Brigade have successfully shot down a Russian Su-25 attack aircraft on the Toretsk front.
The brigade confirmed that their air defense forces eliminated the enemy jet, marking another victory against Russian aerial assaults.
Furthermore, it would interest us to know that the attack was carried out by a combined anti-aircraft missile unit of the 28th Brigade and the 57th Separate Battalion of the Territorial Defense Forces.
Using an Igla man-portable air-defense system, the Ukrainian forces struck the Russian Su-25, bringing it down near Toretsk.
Shortly after, a Russian Mi-8 helicopter attempted to retrieve the downed pilot but was met with resistance. Ukrainian drone units, including the R.V. First-Person View drone teams and an unmanned systems battalion, prevented the rescue operation.
The helicopter was forced to retreat with significant damage, leaving the Su-25 pilot behind.
